Kings Point Pickleball Club

Our Club BOD meeting was held on March 15. Approximately 27 members were in attendance.

Treasurer: at this time the club has around $13000. A few outstanding bills but it looks like we can add about $4800 to that from the Sizzler Tournament. It was a huge success. Thanks to the 150 members who Volunteered.

The Banquet profited close to $780

Membership: 375 to date

Tournament Committee will be meeting to review this year’s tournament and make recommendations for next year. The dates for next year will be mid March. We are waiting for Vesta to approve for us.

Social Committee: meet and greet was a great success. Thank you to all the volunteers.Hoping to organize another Crazy Cards in the next few weeks.

Ambassador Program: this committee has organized volunteers to welcome players at the courts and help them find like levels to lay with. They are Randy Elliott, Pat Poor, Roger Housley, and Binko Zlatanov. Thank you.

Non Resident Club Memberships: It was discussed to revisit our criteria for non resident membership In our Club. A committee was formed made up of Peg Hamric, Denise Byer and Shar Peter. They will review and bring suggestions to the board.

501(c)7: with the success of the tournament it was voted on to revisit acquiring this tax Exemption. A lawyer will be hired to file the necessary, complicated forms. Leslie Nield-Anderson has already put considerable time into this project and will be going forward with it. Mikel Rawlinson and I will be giving her whatever help she needs.

KPPC Website: a discussion on getting our website in working order was discussed. Walter Haug will be working with Mike Dippel to get it workable and user friendly.

CHANGE TO THE BOARD: Last, there have been a couple changes to the BOD. Kathy Johnson has decided to step down as a Member at Large, Larry Kehlenbeck has requested to step down from Vice President and take her place as a Member at Large. At a special meeting of the BOD the board elected to bring Denise Byers on as Vice President. Thank you Denise. And thank you to Kathy Johnson for her time on the board. It was greatly appreciated and fun to have you.

MISSION STATEMENT: The Kings Point Pickleball Club will promote the game of pickleball to our residents and provide competitive and social pickleball activities for all playing levels.  We will encourage good sportsmanship and development of the sport of pickleball through training and participation.
